Eight Mukhi Rudraksha

The eight mukhi rudraksha has eight facets and is a very powerful tool for removing difficulties and obstacles. It overcomes hurdles in growth and helps suppress competition and vanquish enemies. It increases confidence levels and bestows success, wisdom and knowledge. 

It is symbolic of Lord Ganesha and removes hurdles and helps in alleviating physical and mental problems. It promotes truth, ethical practice and cleanses the wearer of the sin of untruthfulness. The wearer develops special abilities and talents. His longevity increases. He experiences an enhancement of pleasure. It sets the wearer free from the sin caused by telling a lie. The wearer attains many siddhies. This bead is used in religious rituals and worship.

We salute the eight faced supreme god who grants us peace. Salutations to the god who grants us fulfillment of all our desires, who helps us in accumulation of wealth, who produces sex drive within us, who gives pleasures for us to enjoy. Salutations to the supreme being who pervades the universe.

The presiding Deity of the eight-faced Rudraksha is Brahmi, the eight Matrikas. By holding this, the eight Vasus are pleased and the river Ganges is also pleased. The putting on of this makes the Jivas truthful and pleasant-minded.

Shiva Purana 
(Shiva Purana Chapter XXV) 

73. A Rudraksha with eight faces is called Vasumurti and Bhairava. By wearing it a man lives the full span of life. After death he becomes the Trident-bearing lord (Shiva).

Padma Purana 
(Shrishti Kand Chapter 57) 

Eight mukhi rudraksha is like Mahasen (Kartikeya) and Ganesha. Now listen to the divine benefits by wearing this rudraksha. He will never be a fool (or a person unable to understand difference between good or bad). He will not be without intellect (he/she) will not face obstacles in any work they pursue (the wearer) remains excellent in writing and gets success in handling big jobs. Success remains foremost in all the works initiated by such a person. The one who uses half lies and cheats during transactions of measurements (like weighing etc.) or takes shelter of lies and dishonesty, the one who touches teacher’s wife for intercourse, touching her stomach or by hand to embrace or any similar sins. If committed by a person then wearing of eight mukhi rudraksha absolves all the sins perpetuated by such acts. Then such a person after getting blessings of the three Gods (Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh) and after enjoying heavenly perpetual bliss gets salvation. All these benefits come from wearing eight mukhi rudraksha.

Lord Kalagnirudra said: The bead with eight faces is of the form of the eight-fold Nature (five elements, mind, ego, and matter) or the eight Vasus and the devotee wearing it attains the grace of these Devatas and becomes truthful.
